At the Franklin Special School District, we are committed to providing excellence in teaching and learning for all students. To ensure that our students reach their full potential, we evaluate a wide range of academic and behavioral skills throughout the year. This evaluation includes state assessments of mathematics (including Algebra I and Geometry), English language arts, social studies, and science. To meet the diverse needs of our students, we use a tiered support system in reading, language arts, math, and behavior.
This means that those who excel will be challenged at higher levels, while those who need additional instruction or support will receive it based on their individual needs. This support can be provided by the student's classroom teacher or other qualified building staff. We also use ongoing assessments to determine how well interventions are working to meet student needs. At A Grade Ahead of Franklin, Tennessee, we offer academic enrichment programs that are designed to help all students improve their grades and confidence. Our after-school tutoring programs cover Mathematics and English, as well as specific subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, and Preschool.
Our classes are small and provide individualized attention at an affordable cost. In keeping with the vision of the Franklin Special School District, the Office of Student Performance is dedicated to the belief that all children can learn. We use the Tennessee Department of Education's Instructional Response and Intervention (RTI) model to provide academic and behavioral support in the general education classroom with the goal of intervening early before any gaps in school achievement become too large.
